Thanks to the relentless efforts and partnership of the CAAAI Education Committee Members and Marcia Smith (Ms. Marcia) Founder and Principal of the Gifted Hands Learning Center For Special Needs (GHLCFSN), a joint crusade was launched in June this year to find a suitable and safe place for the teachers and students of the school.
Following a request to move from its Campbellville location, Ms. Marcia contacted the CAAAI Education Committee to solicit support in acquiring a new and better location for the school. The months and weeks that followed were not easy. CAAAI Education Committee members made numerous phone calls and wrote several letters that introduced and recommended Ms. Marcia and Gifted Hands to homeowners, potential renters, and private organizations, amidst many promises and disappointments.
Refusing to give up on the goal of acquiring a new and better building for our partnership school, that would satisfy the need for security for the students, and a space for them to learn; the Church of the Nazarene located in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown Guyana provided the answer to our prayers, offering a clean and spacious accommodation adjacent to the Church building. On October 13th, the Gifted Hands students and teachers took their seats for the first time in their new North Ruimveldt classroom, with smiling faces and words of appreciation from very happy students and their parents.
This writer would like to extend a warm 'thank you' to Rev. Dr. Neilford Chase, Leadership Pastor of the North Ruimveldt Church of the Nazarene, on behalf of the CAAAI for our telephone conversation during the negotiation stages prior to the signing of the Tenancy Agreement, between the Church and Gifted Hands Learner Center For Special Needs. To God goes the Glory.
