Barbara Atherly - A Narrative About Service

Mary McLeod Bethune wrote, "The service you give to humanity, is the rent you pay for the time you are given on this earth. There are people whose service to mankind, to our strong as well as fragile organizations, macro institutions and countries, have made their service an invaluable compendium of their lives. Guyanese born Barbara Atherly is unmistakenly among those people.

With a unique resume and extensive successful careers on national and international world stages, in sometimes near cataclysmic conditions in geo-politics, crisis nation-building, and attempting to foster coexistence among opposing cultures around the world, Barbara Atherly is the epic summation of Guyanese parents who prioritized religion and education in the home she grew up in, and her attendance at Cambridge Academy that helped form the foundation for higher scholarship, and created a 'bold' and elegant lady who was and still is unafraid to go where ever her services to people are needed.

Thank You So Much

WE THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

On behalf of our CEO Dr. Desiree DeFlorimonte, President Dr. Aubrey F. Bentham, the Cambridge Academy Alumni Association International Executive and Advisory Boards, the 2024 Robert A. Pinkerton Awardees, and the Reunion and Awards Committee, we express a heartfelt and resounding THANK YOU to all of our alumni members, friends, and well-wishers who came out in large numbers to support and celebrate our Reunion Gala, last Saturday July 27, 2024 at Antun's.

It was most gratifying to see the entire Cambridge family together again, in a nostalgic atmosphere of happiness, joyfulness, pleasant memories, and unbreeched unity and love for one another.

Thank you for your mammoth attendance; such large numbers demonstrate your present and future commitment to CAAAI's mission of Giving Back to our ‘Gifted Hands Learning Center for Special Needs’ school partnership program in Guyana.

Please stay with your Association and get involved through the coming months and years via our email, website, and Facebook. Again, it was wonderful seeing all of you, and we look forward to seeing you at our next Reunion Gala in 2026. Until then, take care of yourselves, and of each other. God bless you.
